Graduate, register, and change your path
Your path is the state, licenses, program, stage, and dates that Accrue uses to choose your ledgers and date your tasks. Update it whenever one of those changes.
When to update your path
Update your path when you start practicum or internship, finish your degree, receive a registration number, add or set aside a license, or plan to be licensed in another state. Change only what has actually happened. If a date is not settled yet, leave it unset rather than guessing.
Edit your path
On iPhone, open Settings from the gear beside the Home greeting. Your path appears as four stages: Program, Degree, Registration, and Licensed. Tap a row to change it; the same question you answered during setup opens. In the web app, open Settings from the bottom of the sidebar.
Name on forms sits under the same heading. It is the name printed on your summaries and forms.
Review what follows
When a change affects your ledgers, Accrue shows Your path changed. Here is what follows. It can list ledgers to add, ledgers to activate, program ledgers to deactivate, and pre-degree ledgers that stop counting after your graduation date. Every item starts checked. Uncheck anything you do not want, then confirm.
Ledgers you already keep change only if you confirm an item for them. Not now keeps the path change and leaves every ledger as it is; you can add, turn off, or remove ledgers yourself later in Settings. See Add, pause, and remove ledgers.
When you graduate
Under Degree, set your graduation date. Before the degree is awarded it can be the date you expect; change it to the actual date once you have it.
Three kinds of change can follow:
- Stop counting a pre-degree board ledger after your graduation date. Its earlier hours stay on record and keep counting; hours after the degree do not.
- Activate a post-degree board ledger that was kept inactive through your program. It starts counting from the date shown in the review.
- Deactivate a program ledger. Its hours stay on record; it stops counting new ones.
If a ledger should stop counting at graduation but your path has no graduation date, the review says so. Add the date and the counting closes on it.
When you are registered
Under Registration, enter the issue date and the number the board gave you for each license. California counseling associates enter an APCC number. Hours between your degree and the issue date count only under the board's own rules for that gap, so enter the actual issue date.
Add a license or change state
To add or set aside a license, change the licenses on your path. Only licenses your degree leads to are offered. A new license can bring its own ledger, which appears in the review for you to add.
To plan for licensure in another state, change the state shown beside the Your path heading. Boards differ, so read the requirements and checked date of any ledger the review proposes. A state without researched figures gets a placeholder ledger that holds your hours without a target.
What a path change does not do
A path change never deletes or moves logged entries. A ledger that stops counting or is deactivated keeps its earlier hours. Each entry is still read under the rules in effect on its date. Your path records what you tell Accrue; it does not establish that a board or program has approved anything.
