Sign in, switch devices, and delete your account
Accrue needs an account. The same account holds your records on iPhone and in the web app.
Sign-in options
Sign in with Apple, with Google, or with an email address and password. Use the same method every time. A different method, or an Apple sign-in that hides your email, can open a different account with no records in it.
Email and password
A new password needs at least 12 characters, must not be a common password, and must not appear in known data breaches. To check for breaches, Accrue sends Have I Been Pwned the first five characters of a hash of the password. The password and your email are never sent.
If you forget your password, choose Forgot password? on the iPhone email sign-in screen, or Reset password in the web app, and enter your email. If an account matches it, a link to choose a new password is sent. Check the spam folder too.
After you create an account, a verification email is sent. To send it again, open Settings, then Account, and choose Send verification email.
Use a new iPhone or the web app
On a new iPhone, install Accrue and sign in with the same method as before. Stay connected while your records download. In a browser, sign in at getaccrue.app/app. An Android app is coming soon; until then, Android phones can use the web app.
Before you switch devices, or before relying on a recent change elsewhere, check that syncing has finished. Settings, then Account, shows a message when syncing could not finish. See Account, sync, and privacy.
Records from another account
Accrue never mixes two accounts' records on one iPhone. If this iPhone holds records from a different account than the one you signed in with, Accrue asks what to do before anything changes. You can sign in as that account instead, or replace this iPhone's records with the new account's. Replacing them erases the records on this iPhone only. The other account's synced copy is untouched.
Sign out
Open Settings, then Account, and choose Sign out. Let syncing finish first so your latest changes reach your account. In the web app, sign out from the account menu at the bottom of the sidebar.
Delete your account
Open Settings, then Account, and choose Delete account. Confirm it is you: sign in with Apple or Google again, or enter your password. Then type DELETE. Accrue removes your synced records, your sign-in, and the records on that iPhone. Export your hours first if you need a copy.
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it first. For a web purchase, use Settings, Account, Manage subscription in the web app. For an App Store purchase, use your Apple Account.
